CEMA-216 Soil Health

Soil health monitoring is a valuable tool that empowers growers with essential information to refine their management practices and improve their economic and environmental outcomes across all land uses.

By consistently evaluating soil conditions and correlating them with key performance metrics such as yield, quality, or input expenses, soil health is seamlessly incorporated into the comprehensive management framework.

CEMA-216 (Conservation Evaluation and Monitoring Activity) is a financial assistance opportunity for participants under the NRCS Regenerative Pilot Program.  CEMA 216 requires the assessment of 5 soil indicators:

CEMA-216 STANDARD SOIL HEALTH PACKAGE:

  • Soil Organic Carbon (Dry Combustion)
  • Wet Aggregate Stability (NRCS Method)
  • Soil Respiration by CO2 Burst (24 Hour Incubation)
  • Active Carbon (Permanganate Oxidation)
  • Bioavailable Nitrogen (Ace Protein Method)
  • Soil Texture
  • Soil pH

These assist producers in comprehending the requirements of their land for optimal functioning. Healthy soil fosters productive, resilient, and sustainable farming practices. Investing in soil health is crucial for regenerative agriculture and for safeguarding one of our most precious resources, soil.

CEMA-216 ADVANCED SOIL HEALTH PACKAGE:

Standard soil health package + microbial functionality (activity) via enzymes.

  • B-Glucisidase
  • N-acetyl-B-D-glucosaminidase (NAG)
  • Phosphatase
  • Arylsulfatase
